Lagea Mull, President

Lagea is a passionate woman of Christ whose mission is to inspire and encourage women to connect with Jesus so He can transform their lives. As a pastor's daughter & former military spouse, she learned early on that women need to be connected. Since her early 20's, she has served & participated in women's ministry at the various churches she has attended. In her 30's and early 40's, while her husband served in the Air Force, she continued to serve in churches. Still, she expanded her reach into the military spouse community. Unit leadership appointed her as the liaison between the commander and the families. She was also elected to positions in the local base spouses club. Even as God was granting her much success in the military spouse world with various awards & titles, she knew that wasn't where He ultimately wanted her. The time after her husband's Air Force retirement, she continued to seek His direction actively. Finally, in the summer of 2016, He confirmed her calling to minister to women and their family's relocation to beautiful Sweet Home, Oregon. She joined our board in January 2017.
After handling communications for the City of Sweet Home for over three years, in September of 2022, she became the Executive Director of the Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, she loves introducing her husband to the wonders of Oregon, baking, spending time with their adorable grandson, and tracking down their five young adult children (& their spouses.)

Diana Denham, Treasurer

In 2005 Diana and her husband moved to the Willamette Valley from Seattle, WA, as they answered the call to full-time pastoral ministry. They served in three churches where she organized and led women’s Bible studies during that time. Diana has always had a passion for learning and studying God’s Word. When she discovers some nugget God uses to grow her, she has to share it with others. Working full-time as the Finance & Human Resources Manager for Linn County Health Services left her less time to write and prepare for her studies. Diana was thrilled to be introduced to Mid-Valley Women of Christ and partner with them to host and facilitate community-wide studies during the last several years. She lives in Lebanon with her husband, Jon, and her twelve-year-old son, Tristan. In her downtime, she likes relaxing with a good book and a cup of tea, cooking up new recipes, traveling, kayaking, and walking her Yorkipoo, Remy.
Diana joined our Board of Directors in March of 2022.

Goldie Toews, Secretary

Goldie Toews was born in Tacoma, Washington, and was raised in a Christian home with her three sisters. At nine, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized. Many years after her family moved to Oregon, she graduated from LBCC with an AA degree and married her husband Justin in 1996. After returning to Albany after living in California for five years, she became a member of Eastside Christian Church in 2002. She and her husband have two children, who are now both grown and attending college. During some of her children’s younger years, Goldie was a stay-at-home mom. Then Goldie worked part-time at Albany Christian School in the Preschool and Childcare department for eight years. In 2014, she accepted her current position as Office Manager at Eastside Christian Church. Goldie enjoys spending time with her family, teaching in children’s church, scrapbooking, and hiking. She is grateful for the blessings and opportunities to be involved in the ministry that God gives her.

Karna Berg_edited.jpg

Karna Berg

Karna joined our board in May 2018. She became a new creation in Christ as a young college student in 1979.  Attending wonderful Bible-teaching churches and meeting wonderful friends, who served as examples and mentors, enabled her steady growth in Christ. Active devotion to Christ’s body has provided many opportunities to serve, ranging from a full summer missions trip to the Philippines to numerous local church and community ministries.  Participating in several MVWC Bible Studies has served to keep her heart engaged, challenged and tender to God’s heart for rescuing the perishing, strengthening the weak and standing with and holding up the arms of those who lead the way.  Karna and her husband, Mark, are the parents of four children and serve as elders at Adair Community Church. She is active in MVWC Bible studies, Community Prayer and Bible Study Fellowship. Professionally, Karna is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant. By his grace, she serves to support the mission of Mid-Valley Women of Christ which inspires love and promotes unity for God’s glory.

A ministry that provides world-class Bible study materials to help women grow spiritually and fulfill their own calling. To this end, Come Thirsty provides adoption scholarships, scholarships for church-led short-term mission trips, and a free Through-the-Bible study every year. Karen Monk

Karen joined our board in August 2017 with a strong background in computers, having earned an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering from Chemeketa Community College. She holds a Certificate in Computer Networking from Linn Benton Community College as well. An active volunteer for many years in the Keizer area, Karen served as the Assistants Group Lead for EVAK through Keizer Emergency Management and was on the Keizer CERT (community emergency response team) through FEMA. She is currently in her 3rd year volunteering as an electrical mentor for the Albany high school robotics team, SWARM. An active learner of new things, Karen has enjoyed classes at LBCC in Hebrew and violin. Currently, she also assists the Women’s Ministries team in planning and facilitating women’s events at Valley Christian Center. She and her husband Darrell are both natives of Salem, who now reside in Albany.  Karen is the mother of one son and is experiencing much joy in raising her grandson. The Lord has placed a deep desire in Karen’s heart to help women know and be known by other women at a deeper level. Participating in Community Bible Studies, helping the women of her church, and serving on the MVWC board has brought forth the realization of her calling to reach women.
